Nullagine

via Marble Bar Rd, Nullagine, 6758

Nullagine, a small township north of Newman, was established in 1899 as a gold rush town. It was also the site of Australia’s first known diamond find.

Today it's home to just under 150 people, and on arrival visitors will find a Welcome Rest Stop on the main street, offering free WiFi, a shaded playground, public toilets and dump facilities. Old steam engines on display offer some insight to Nullagine's heritage. The General Store offers a chance to restock on groceries, fuel, fishing tackle and more, while accommodation, food and drinks are available at the historic Nullagine Hotel. Campers are also catered for at the Nullagine Caravan Park.
